Public Health Nursing


The Public Health Nursing Division includes skilled nurses and support staff who provide services to prevent and control communicable and chronic disease. Click on the links for more detailed information.

Immunization Clinics
Vaccination clinics for adults and children for a wide range of communicable diseases. Clinics in Middletown, Newburgh, Goshen, and Port Jervis.

TB Clinics
Clinics in Newburgh and Middletown for testing, treatment of Tuberculosis.

STD and HIV Clinics
Clinics in Newburgh and Middletown for the diagnosis and treatment of sexually-transmitted diseases (STDs). Anonymous, confidential testing and counseling for HIV are also offered in Newburgh and Middletown.

Nutrition Assistance - Women, Infants and Children (WIC)
Supplemental nutrition assistance and nutrition counseling for income eligible pregnant women, children up to 5 years old, and mothers of children up to 6 months old (12 months old if breastfeeding)

Home Health Care Services 
Skilled nursing and other services for the ill or disabled homebound are available through the Certified Home Health Agency (CHHA). Healthcare and social services for the ill and disabled who would otherwise be treated in a nursing home or other facility are available through the Long Term Care Program.

Communicable Disease
Monitoring of communicable disease trends, and response to communicable disease outbreaks.
